In 2020, Venture Solutions began efforts to consolidate direct messaging vendors that had accumulated through acquisitions. Focused on improving client experience, driving efficiencies, and increasing cost savings, Venture Solutions selected a new forward-thinking direct messaging partner. This partnership supports transactional emails through automated API services and expands SMS text capabilities for our customers.
Jill Krueger, Director of Information Technology, oversees the IT team including Lori Hansen, Trey Schultz, and Michael Raiford who managed the migration effort. The IT team collaborated with Client Services, Development, and Technical Support teams to transition to the new platform.
The migration began in April 2021 to seamlessly move client templates and content for direct messaging campaigns to the new system by March 2022. This significant undertaking required transitioning 40 clients, moving hundreds of templates, and interfacing with 9 different internal systems to ensure connectivity.
Our new system is vendor-agnostic, allowing Venture Solutions greater flexibility when changes arise. Standardizing our direct messaging operations created a more stable structure that can expand to accommodate customer needs. Also, direct messaging implementation timelines are now faster with onboardings reduced from months to weeks. Lori commented, “The new system allowed us to grow and evolve more affordably with additional options and features that we didn’t have before.”
The most rewarding part of the project for Trey was collaborating with internal teams which opened a lot of connections that have continued forward. Lori was impressed with the teamwork to completely develop new processes, learn new systems, and create a significant amount of documentation to help people understand the new platform in a short amount of time.
The migration was successfully completed in March 2022 and Venture Solutions is experiencing substantial benefits. Jill Krueger shared, “We've seen an increase of over 50% in email messaging volume from 2021 to 2022 as clients continue to expand their journey in digital adoption and transformation.”
