Last month, members of Taylor’s leadership team met with representatives of Canon’s leadership in Mankato over the course of two days. The meeting was well planned, and the agenda focused on establishing a consensus on our partnership with Canon and areas for potential improvement. 

This conversation confirmed that our strategic partnership with Canon is built on consistent values that align closely with those modeled in Taylor United. Mainly, we are both driven to continually provide opportunities and security for our people. 

The teams reviewed past performance and determined the following as areas to prioritize improvements: 

• Maintaining a sense of urgency and customer focus when providing service to Taylor and Venture Solutions 
• Aligning Canon and Taylor on staffing and training of respective staff: 
  • Considering a tiered service model with responsibilities split between Canon and Taylor personnel depending on the level of complexity 
  • Tier 1 Example: basic preventative maintenance or repairs that can be completed on site by trained Taylor/Venture Solutions associates 
  • Tier 2 Example: more complex technical issues that require Canon technicians 
  • Tier 3 Example: most complex issues that require escalation to resources from Boca or Venlo 
• Creating a baseline understanding of the current supply of parts and finding ways for Taylor to play a part in improving the service model going forward 

Overall, both leadership groups came away from this meeting in agreement that we succeed or fail together, and we each play a part in the outcome. Canon is committed to doing their part in this partnership, and we at Venture Solutions and Taylor as a whole are committed to doing ours. Our organizations are on the same team and are working toward the same goal of strengthening our partnership.
