Client Overview

SKYGEN is a Wisconsin-based company that delivers technology solutions to dental and vision insurance plan providers. Their role in the managed care industry is to support providers, payers, members, and government agencies with the right tools to streamline delivery and administration of specialty benefits. They aim to reduce costs of healthcare to patients and improve connections between each of the stakeholders involved in healthcare administration.

As a company, SKYGEN values respect, inclusivity, accountability, innovation, and integrity. These values are expected from their leadership, between employees, and toward their clients. These are also values SKYGEN holds in common with Venture Solutions, making a partnership with them well-matched in terms of culture.

For quite some time, SKYGEN had been considering making the leap from in-house print services to outsourced customer communications management. The long-term effects of the pandemic, particularly labor and materials shortages, plus damage to their mail center sustained by a severe winter storm in October 2021 pushed them to make the leap in Q4 of 2021. Venture Solutions started out gradually taking on ad hoc work for SKYGEN, first with their EOBs in December 2021 and adding on a couple more mailings throughout 2022. Our service delivery proved successful, and SKYGEN moved their full business portfolio to Venture Solutions in 2023.

Implementation Scope

SKYGEN’s implementation kicked off on March 13, 2023, with a pilot Go Live date of September 25. Venture Solutions was to implement SKYGEN’s EOBs, dental home letters, authorization letters, and other miscellaneous letters as precomposed files with NCOA and CASS processing. The projected revenue for this business is in excess of $1.68M.

The following team members made up the implementation team:

  • Jenny Windland – Project Manager
  • Jay Herring – Solution Architect
  • Dennis Ditzig – Client Services
  • Shane Snyder – Client Services

During implementation, it was clear that SKYGEN was focused on engaging with our phased implementation process. They reviewed and clearly understood their Project Requirements Document (PRD), so much that they gave more feedback on typically overlooked things within the document, like grammatical errors. It was clear through the engagement with SKYGEN that they were providing subject matter experts as resources for the implementation, allowing us to collaborate and learn from their knowledge of the business.

Post-Implementation Feedback

Following the pilot program Go Live date, SKYGEN completed our survey and provided highly complimentary feedback:

“Jenny Windland, Pat Uline, Jay Herring, Jean Wagner, Dennis Ditzig and the rest of our implementation team were fantastic!  We couldn't have had a more committed and collaborative set of partners to undertake this project.”

“We had a very well-run implementation with no hiccups; our Venture partners were great!”

Overall, implementation for SKYGEN’s work was uneventful and a reminder of what factors into a smooth transition for both clients and Venture Solutions: engaged team members on both sides of the partnership, a commitment to delivering quality services, and shared values that drive continuous improvements.
