System Consolidation

Taylor Print & Service Solutions is retiring its PRISM mainframe system. As part of this effort, Venture Solutions is transitioning invoicing and inventory processes using this mainframe to internal systems. Reducing redundant systems helps efficiently support customers, operations, and growth.

Dunette Combs, Director of Project Management, is overseeing this important consolidation with assistance from her team. Cheryl Reed is the project manager over inventory conversion and Julie Davison is managing the invoicing piece. Dunette shared, “It’s a big project being handled by two wonderful project managers who are really diligent, strong leaders.”

This significant project is scheduled to be completed in Q2 2023. Project managers are currently collaborating with the P&SS teams and Venture Solutions groups including Client Services, Operations, Finance, and Contract Administration to get the job done. The team shared that there is a lot of work to make this happen and things are progressing well.

Inventory Consolidation

Venture Solutions’ Sacramento and Charlotte locations will be moving inventory management to PrintStream. This transition requires some physical inventory relocation to other areas using the PrintStream system. These enhancements will provide consistency, efficiency, and standardization across Venture Solutions' inventory processes. Cheryl commented, “The overall goal is to come off legacy systems and have a direct path toward Horizon.”

Invoicing Consolidation

Transitioning over 100 accounts to a new invoicing system is a challenge, requiring analysis to understand individual account customizations, contract agreements, and requirements. Currently, Julie is working with Finance, Sales and Client Services to transition accounts over $200K in revenue, with an additional focus on small account analysis to determine fit and feasibility within the project.

These updates will give Venture Solutions better control over invoicing and provide greater visibility into order frequency, invoice timing, payment, and collections.

Benefits Include:

  • Cost savings by removing redundant systems
  • Increased control over invoicing and inventory processes
  • Improved visibility into customer health metrics
  • Simplified systems and processes

A Team Effort

The project team would like to thank everyone for their collaboration in this important endeavor.
