Postage Update: New USPS Postage Rates Approved for January 2024

The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) has approved the next USPS postage rate increases, which will take effect on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

Here are the highlights of what changes to expect in January:

The new rates include a two-cent increase in the price of a First-Class Mail Forever stamp from 66 cents to 68 cents.
First-Class Mail services will increase by approximately 2% overall.
There will be no change to the additional-ounce prices for single-piece letters or flats, which will both remain at 24 cents.
Marketing Mail will receive rate increases between 2–4%, depending on the mailings, with an average 2% increase across all Marketing Mail.

To help mitigate these postage cost increases, the USPS will continue to offer their six promotional discounts throughout 2024. Additionally, the USPS will be offering a new growth incentive program for mailers who increase their First-Class and Marketing Mail volumes above one million mail pieces in calendar year 2024. Both the promotions and the incentive program are excellent opportunities for mailers to offset their mailing costs.
