The USPS has submitted their proposed July 2024 prices for approval by the Postal Regulatory Commission. If approved, the new rates will take effect on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

The proposed rate adjustments include the following:

  • A five-cent increase in the price of a First-Class Mail Forever stamp, from 68 cents to 73 cents
  • Price increases will range from 7.8–8.5%, depending on mail type
  • An increase from 24 to 28 cents for additional-ounce prices of single-piece letters

Venture Solutions will monitor the PRC review process and share the final rates once they are approved.

In the meantime, there are still promotions that can be taken advantage of through 2024 to lower postage costs and offset these upcoming increases.

  • The registration deadline for the Mail Growth Incentives is quickly approaching. Mailers must register and establish an agreed-upon baseline by June 30th to earn postage credits.
  • Registration for the IMbA™ promotion opens on May 15th and offers a 3% discount for Static IMbA™ or 6% discount for Serialized IMbA™.
  • Registration for the Informed Delivery® promotion opens on June 15th and offers a 4% discount. This could be your last chance to participate in this promotion as early indications for 2025 do not include Informed Delivery® as a standalone promotion.
  • Both the Personalized Color Transpromo and Tactile, Sensory and Interactive discounts are available through July 31st.

Early indicators lead our mailing experts to believe the USPS Promotions will undergo some major changes in 2025.

  • The current proposal includes five, rather than the previous six, promotions for 2025, including Integrated Technology; Tactile, Sensory & Interactive; Continuous Contact (a new promotion which encourages increased touchpoints with customers and prospects); Reply Mail IMbA™; and First-Class Mail Advertising (another new promotion which requires integration of marketing messages onto First-Class mail pieces or as standalone advertisements).
  • The Informed Delivery promotion would no longer be offered as a standalone option; instead, it would be exclusively available as an add-on discount to one of the five promotions (excluding Reply Mail IMbA™).
  • The new Sustainability discount—offered for campaigns that demonstrate use of certifiable, responsibly sourced materials—would also be offered in this add-on model and would require combination with one of the five main promotions (excluding Reply Mail IMbA™).
