In late 2022, Taylor Print & Service Solutions made the decision to transition their ordering, invoicing, and inventory processes from PRISM to an internal mainframe. This transition involved the major upheaval of our legacy systems and the consolidation of key CCM processes across several departments. Dunette Combs, Director of Project Management, spearheaded this migration project, with Cheryl Reed and Julie Davison managing inventory and invoicing conversions, respectively.

In early April 2023, Cheryl Reed launched Venture Solutions’ current ordering process for client-specific stock and led the inventory migration to Distribution Technology in Charlotte, NC. Now, as of June 17th, 2024, two days before her 18th anniversary with the company, Julie Davison finalized the successful transition of approximately $6.2 million in forecasted client revenue to Alliance Corporation systems from the PRISM mainframe.

This new invoicing process increases administrative control over our internal processes and provides greater oversight concerning our invoice timings, frequencies, and payments.

With large variances in required resources and contractual agreements from one account to the next, this project called for significant interdepartmental collaboration. Alongside Client Services, Finance, Sales, Contract Administration, and the PS&S team, Julie led a deeply personalized strategy to ensure each client’s account was properly converted to the new system. In total, Julie oversaw the transition of 111 new or existing CCNs to the new Alliance system.

“Julie's leadership and collaborative nature have been instrumental in completion of this project,” Dunette remarked. “She has done a phenomenal job engaging and partnering with various business groups and functional areas within Taylor. Julie's ability to manage this large, complex project while effectively communicating was crucial to its success, and we are extremely grateful that she is a part of our team.”

In addition to the efforts of the departments mentioned above, this implementation process was driven in particular by the internal leadership of Jean Olig, Jackie Martin, and Barry Smith. Their hard work, business expertise, and follow through behind the scenes, Julie noted, were fundamental at every step throughout the project.

We at Venture Solutions are extremely proud of our talented staff and thank them all for their part in executing this massive endeavor. For more information regarding the Print & Service Solutions Mainframe Transition, please contact Dunette Combs.
