As we previously shared in December, Taylor Print & Service Solutions is retiring the PRISM mainframe system, which required some major consolidation efforts from the Venture Solutions team. Legacy invoicing and inventory processes that had previously used the PRISM mainframe needed to be moved to internal systems. The project was projected to be completed in Q2 of this year, and the team has exciting developments to share.

One project that has seen great progress is inventory consolidation. In early April, Venture Solutions will begin using a new ordering process for client-specific stock, and all inventory will be moved from Taylor Lithia Springs to a new third-party vendor, Distribution Technology in Charlotte, NC. The new ordering process will allow the client services team to follow a standardized workflow across all Venture Solutions sites, own and manage all client artwork, improve tracking and searchability of historical data, and reduce potential liability of using incorrect artwork or stock.

Dunette Combs, Director of Project Management, has been leading the overall PRISM migration project and remarked, “This has been a huge undertaking with several resources planning, driving, and executing the work over the past several months.” The work of Cheryl Reed, who led the inventory consolidation efforts, and her team has made significant strides toward the future state of Horizon, eliminating redundant systems and simplifying processes for greater efficiency and cost savings.

Defining the new process required significant work from Mikkel Chambers, Christine Wagner, Kelley Mayes, Melissa Hughes, Paul Figiel, Rhonda Huntley, Eric Nowell, and Karen Perry with input and thought leadership from many others.

Rhonda Huntley, Eric Nowell, and Mark Kuehn have been the primary leaders behind implementing a new digital asset management tool, Widen, that will house artwork needed for these client orders. Eric’s team will administrate the tool moving forward and act as SME resources for any assistance needed.

Greg Groleau, Doris Faust, and Lora Plante have been working diligently to get the contracts executed for the new inventory site, James Scott and Paul Figiel drove the move of the physical inventory, and Christine Wagner performed critical financial analysis and inventory value transfer efforts.
